The Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy research center was inaugurated in Beijing on July 20, 2020. The center was established by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the support of the China Institute of International Studies. It aims to coordinate resources nationwide and carry out comprehensive, systematic and in-depth studies, explanations and introductions of the Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy. Focusing on studying the nature, theory, practice, communication, policies, and specific subjects of the Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy, the center aims to give full play to the guiding role of the Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy in China’s diplomatic practices, and serve the construction of theory, system and mechanism, and capacity of the major country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics in the new era, thus making positive contributions to the major country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics in the new era.

Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi attended the inauguration ceremony and delivered a speech. Wang said that the Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy is a major achievement of epoch-making significance in the construction of New China’s diplomatic theory, an organic component of the Xi Jinping thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, the latest achievement of Marxism in the diplomatic field in the 21st century, an innovation of the fine traditional Chinese culture, an inheritance of New China’s diplomatic theory, and a transcendence of the traditional theory of international relations. The ceremony was attended by relevant leaders from the Central Publicity Department, the Central Policy Research Office, the Central Party History and Literature Research Institute, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and moderated by Qi Yu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Dean Men Honghua was invited to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy research center, and awarded the letter of appointment as the first batch of special experts. Dean Men spoke at the first expert seminar of the center.
